Disconnect Fees and Problems (433 reviews)
Infinite Energy: My Experience
“ I had infinite energy for 6 months. I attempted to use their autopay system and was continually behind the payment schedule (at first it was blamed on a delay between when you set it up and when it goes through, later it was blamed on my card itself, which was fine.) They did remove late charges when asked, but when they cut my power off 2 weeks before a payment was due I decided I had had enough. I called them and told them to reconnect the power and then 5 minutes later decided to switch companies. When I called back, they said that the power had already been reconnected and to disconnect now would cost a total of $60. $20 for initial disconnect, $20 for reconnect, and $20 for final disconnect. I could not dispute this and will now be paying them $60 dollars. This company does not provide customer service after 5pm, has an awful autopay system, and will disconnect your power without notifying you (they said there was a notice sent via mail. I have not received it.) Major inconvenience. Great pricing though! ”

Horrible
“ Just try calling 1-866-5878674. It's a joke. Long delays I between selections. You'll get disconnected for no reason. No call back when you leave your call back number Ect. Plus i am reporting them to the PUC for charging way more than stated on the facts sheet. Just switched to stream energy. Forget about the 2 $75.00 gift cards for the 2 accounts I had. ”

Use 4change energy instead
“ Ive been a customer of Tri Eagle Energy for 4.5 years (no deposit required). My bill has been on auto pay the whole time. We owned a duplex (lived in one side rented the other). Tenant left and I need electricity to clean. Tri Eagle charged me a 250 deposit to have electricity to have electricity for a week. Last month we had to evict a tenant. I called Tri Eagle again, they wanted a tenants lease and wanted pictures of my license and social security card. Called 4change Energy, they got my electric right away. Then we sold the property. Called Tri Eagle to disconnect service, was told it would be the next day for disconnection and never sent me a confirmation for disconnection. Called 4change energy, they disconnected service right away and sent me my final bill immediately. I waited 3 days and called Tri Eagle , then they finally told me that service was disconnected and emailed me a final bill. Please take my advice and dont use Tri Eagle and go with 4 change energy. ”

They will nickel and dime you on late and disconnect charges
“ Once you are late with a payment for a day, they will put a $10 late fee on you and send you a letter in the middle of the billing cycle and if you dont pay their $10 late charge immediately, they will put another $10 late charge, and then send you an intent to disconnect letter for which they will charge another $10. This is ridiculous and on a boarder with harassment. I will disconnect from them as soon as my contract is over! ”
