Billing Problems and Complaints (619 reviews)
They will nickel and dime you on late and disconnect charges
“ Once you are late with a payment for a day, they will put a $10 late fee on you and send you a letter in the middle of the billing cycle and if you dont pay their $10 late charge immediately, they will put another $10 late charge, and then send you an intent to disconnect letter for which they will charge another $10. This is ridiculous and on a boarder with harassment. I will disconnect from them as soon as my contract is over! ”

Customer No Service!
“
Constellation sent letter thanking me for my request for level billing.
I did not order that.
Tried calling their customer service number for the last 3 weeks at various times during the day.
You remain on hold listening to messages about how important your call is to them.
After several calls remaining on hold for 35 mins. I was cut off.
Exactly the same cut off time waiting on 7 calls to them.
Ive sent requests for change back to actual usage billing online 3 times in the last 2 months.
Recording says you can send email.
Tried that, no response.
Promised gift card after first 3 months of service for signing up for their electric service.
Still waiting.
They were the lowest cost electricity provider.
Once you sign up they are gone.
Promotional gift cards are promises with no delivery, ”

I should have listened to the negative reviews
“ I am a new customer to Xoom. I contacted the company about my first bill I received that was for only 2 service days. Starting 9/1 ending 9/3. They charged me the full AGL base passthrough fee of $28 dollars for only 2 service days. When I inquired why my first bill would only be for 2 days or why they could not prorate/credit my bill they said Sorry. Our system automatically starts new service dates on 1st of each month. Okay no problem, but if they know new service starts on the first why would they have their billing system setup to end statements on the 3rd of each month? This means each new customer gets charged the full AGL passthrough fee for only an initial 2 day service period. Seems like a scam and a rip off too me. They tried to tell me it all had to do with the day the meter was read. Okay fine too, but charging people a full base fee for only a 2 day service bill is unethical at best. ”

Stay away
“ We've been with constelation for about 6 months now and we haven't seen not 1 cent in savings on our already high electrical billing in fact I think our bill went up I think this company is full of it ”

A bad company misleads consumers
“ Town Square policy misleads customers with its option to choose their supplier. Up until last year, there was a 2-week window for changing to a supplier with a more competitive rate. Now I ve been told that any change of supplier must be put in place within 2-3 billing cycles of the existing contract. The catch is that most suppliers require a commitment of a 4-6 months contract and any request to switch sooner involves a $50 cancellation fee. Town Square has out its customers over a barrel with the result that they never know of a good time to switch. I have ended up sticking with the Town Square energy supply rate; no surprise that this Town Square standard rate is the highest out there. Town Square should do better than this for its customers. ”
