“ My husband was approached at a 'wholesale club' by a Just Energy representative and was given a good pitch although he stated he would not agree to make a change to their company until he discussed it with me. He was told he would receive an email with all details and had three days to confirm or reject the offer. We never received an email, a phone call or any communication from them. It took us four days of trying their phone numbers to get through and was hung up on multiple occasions. Nice!! Just Energy was able to change our provider, without our authorization. How they were able to accomplish that move without our electric company account information is quite scarey! I would never recommend them, to say the least. Be warned. ”
“ I was stopped at the grocery store promised this great deal. Well now I'm it for almost $600 dollars with all the fees. I was on there service for 1 month they basically said too bad to sad. Do not fall for this company. What waste of my time and money. I thinks I will report them to the BBB as well ”
“
*Scam, Scam, Scam, Save yourself, don't switch to Just Energy.*
I was tricked into switching from my previous company in Sam's Club, their sales people are liars, providing false info, & over promising. their free night plan is a scam to get you bound into the highest rate. you realize this in couple of months, and when you switch they lock their online portal for you to make any changes. so basically when you switch , they load up your final invoice with Bu...it charges and you can't make any changes in your auto pay. kind of forced into whatever they charge you. Idk , if this is even legal. i wish I can rate them in negative. They should be named UNJUST ENERGY ”
“ I use to pay $120 monthly with other companies with Ac all day !! Since I switch with this company Oommggggg they be cutting my light all the time and my bill be coming out like $400 hours o $500 why?!!!!! They cut my light every month because I cant afford them its like paying commercial!! ”
“ Do not use them. Ever. I signed up because they had the cheapest rates in our area. Huge mistake. If you can not make your payment by the due date, they will send you a disconnect notice on the 3rd day past the due date. And that disconnect notice is dated for 2 weeks after the due date. For us specifically, the due date was July 17th, disconnect notice (which I didn't get in the mail by the way) was sent out on the 20th with a disconnect due date of July 31st. I tried to set up a payment arrangement BEFORE the due date and couldn't because I had a zero past due balance and couldn't set one up after because they require half down for the payment. And forget getting transferred to a supervisor. Literally every time I've tried it disconnects. Once I spent an hour on hold before giving up. Another time it rang back to regular call takers. I even called too close to the end of the day and after spending 15 minutes on hold it kicked off to a "after hours" message before disconnecting. Tell me that supervisor didn't decided to not pick up because he or she was ready to go home. This company is terrible. ”
“ I was approached by a male just energy rep while I was shopping at Sam's club. He asked how much per kilowatt I was paying for my electric bill. I let him know that it was approximately $17.00. He immediately started telling me how their plans cuts my biis into half. He got my attention so I asked him how? He stated that just energy will be approximately $8.00 per kilowatt. After this man scrolling down his I pad and showed me the amount I would be saving, I fell for it and signed a 3 year contract. My recent bill was so high so I contacted customer service only to find out that I'm being charged almost $ .24 cents per kilowatt and not the approximately $.08 cent per kilowatt I was sold. Customer service rep could not make the changes so he said the supervisor would call to discuss. 2 week later no one has contacted me. ”
“ They got me at Sams club the second time I was in Sams. They told me if I switch I wouldnt have any cancellation fees. I have to pay my previous company 195 for cancellation fee. Just energy said oh we will reimbursed you for switch and pay you the fee which was $150 it doesnt cover for the whole cancellation fee of previous provider so I just thought it will be ok. So they offer free nights and showed you ghost bills they lied about the rate. My rate was 0.21c for kWh something and the girl that got me told me it was going to be .11 cents for kWh so my bill just kept getting bigger and bigger. Now my bill from June 14-july18 was $255 and I used them 4 days after that. So my bill is 632.67 now! Cancellation fee 150 and exit fee 175 wth!!!! What is all this and other fees that I have no idea where they came from! This is a deceitful company! Dont trust them they lied!!!!!! Now Im stuck with other fees that I cant pay ”
“ Ive been with TXU for over 25 years and had some concerns with my current bill, went into Sams to shop. I was approached by a Just energy representative that explained my bill would be extremely low, if transferred to their company. She indicated that would be great promotions incentives given to me, gift cards, A cancellation fee would be paid by just energy and they will handle everything. I dont need to call TXU. She encouraged me to run my AC all night and that will be taken off the day billing cycle.Heres my problem? My service was transferred to just energy as she indicated. however, I had to pay the cancellation fee, and now its on my credit report as Just energy didnt take care of it as she promised! There was no gift card promotions as promised, she said oh Im sorry it was an error they wouldnt (just energy) except the promotion!! OMG Im a single mother with a special needs child. The last thing I need is to pick up additional expenses. All I had to do was call TXU and work out a plan as I have been with them for years!!With Texas being so hot, the Sales pitch seem to be so unbelievable, but I was willing to give it a try! Unfortunately, I should have followed my first mind and stay with TXU and now Im upside down with my bill and the way more than I needed to pay.I feel the representative need to get a commission I lied for this purpose. My credit means so much to me, and now just energy should be more transparent with the representatives in the information thats given to the general public!! my main focus need to be on my special-needs daughter, not finances! ”

“ Signed up at HEB , was told my rate was 9.1 , THAT was a lie, I told by customers service my rate was 12.1, Checked my bill say 15.5, called again it's 14.1 , How it go up n I didn't know nothing about, I been paying 9.99 a month since day of service for Green Charge I didn't know that, So I feel just energy is taking my money, and my bill be too High ”
“ Some not very smart person at Just Energy disconnected my service, even though, there was no reason to. I lost power at 11:30am in 115 degree weather. I called just energy to make sure it was nothing on their end and they said it was not. I then reported an outage with Centerpoint because I did not know what else to do. Turns out someone at Just Enrgy disconnected my service in error which I did not find out until 6:30pm when I called again. They could not reconnect until the next day. I have a 3 years old. Because of that persons mistake I was left with no power for almost 24 hours. My food has gone bad. I had to go somewhere else to work, since I work from home. ”
“ Terrible experience, was told by sales rep I would not be on a contract called customer service after signing up and was told I was on a 3 year contract. Its $175 to cancel your If I dont want to pay Im stuck. ”
“ In a recorded conversation on 7/6/23 with Just Energy sales person on a recorded line I told her multiple times I wanted the start date to be 7/11/23. She said that date was fine and in ending our conversation said the start I preferred had been noted on the contract. On the same day, 7/6/23, I changed my mind and sent a cancellation of the agreement to their customer service email. Just Energy ignored both the start date I requested and the cancellation of agreement I sent them on 7/6/23 and opened service on 7/8/23. I found them to be an unethical company in my short experience with them. ”
“ This is the worse electricity company I have ever had!! The sales man stated that the contract would be for 1 year and they surprised me with 5 YEARS!!! It is based out of Houston which is why they charge extra fees! The contract ends in 2025!!! Whenever I call to get explanations regarding billing, the reps have no idea how to explain the bill!! Ridiculous company! ”
“ I got signed up by just listening my to the guy at my door WITHOUT my consent or my signature. Ive emailed customer service, texted the guys number. I need this to be resolved. If this company and this guy doesnt get this resolved ASAP, I WILL take legal action as this is completely illegal. ”
“ I was scammed by this horrible company while shopping at Sam's Club in Round Rock, Texas. My electric bills have never been so high. This month's bill is $458.00 and my projected bill for next month is over $500.00. ”
“ One of my first energy companies that I signed with. I was told very clearly and explicitly over phone and in person that if I wanted to leave early I would be able to at no charge. Left early, got a charge of almost $200 exit fee. This doesn't even talk about the problems i had with the auto payment randomly not working with no email saying that theres a problem. Awful money grabbing company- ridiculously expensive also. ”
“ Signed up with Just Energy at Sam's Club, MD based on the sales pitch from a woman portraying to be a JE agent, saying that I would be saving a lot of money by paying almost half the cost per kwh of what I am paying with the current provider. Then she showed me a comparison between the current price that I am paying versus the JE bill. Apples to apples. She showed it on her iPad. JE's bill was lower by $100. I went ahead and signed with JE. She also told me there is no obligation to cancel. No fees charged. It turned out when the first month bill came JE charged me $100 more than what my normal bill was. Instead of seeing a reduction over my monthly bill I saw an increase by $100. Immediately I called my old utility company and had them switch from JE. Since I was already into the second month, JE charged me $100 plus another $50 for the half month. It's a good thing that I caught this early otherwise they would lock me in for three years with no way out and if I ever wanted to get out, there would be early termination fees. I immediately called the JE customer service and they told me that I should have read the fine print of the contract. I believed the sales agent's words when she showed me the price difference. What the agent never mentioned was that the JE would charge in addition to what I am paying monthly. How would that help me? Why would I switch to another utility provider if it does not benefit me? Why do I want to pay an extra $100 or more every month? This is a simple common sense question. Switching I thought would help me reduce the monthly payment. JE did not refund the money that I paid them nor did I ever receive the gift cards from them. This is a big scam. The lesson learned here is to never sign up from a third party energy supplier, especially at the Sam's Club. Do your research. I came to buy groceries at Sam's Club and not to shop for energy suppliers. Sam's Club should not allow this type of scammer at their stores. I've lost almost $200 for no reason and not to mention the pain and suffering. Who is responsible for my money loss? Does Sam's Club refund my money? ”
“ They cut off my power yesterday claiming someone "put in for a service transfer to a different provider" even though no one in my household did, and JE could not tell me who/when made this request. After spending 3 hours with different customer reps yesterday I was told they could not reconnect power since it was after 12:00pm and it would be restored the following day but I would have to create a new account in order to get power restored. At that point in my fury, I said I would not be creating a new account with them and would be switching companies. They said then I would have to pay the $175 termination fee since I didn't finish my contract (when in reality THEY terminated my contract by disconnecting my service). It was the most asinine roundabout idiotic conversation I have ever had and was transferred to approximately 5 supervisors who were less helpful and more rude than their underlings. I am going on 24 hours with no power in 100 degree heat. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. ”
“
Along with other people I was told it would stay the same as I currently pay.
Wasted my valuable time being lied to, this company should be shuttttttt down! Got the contract in my email and said .17kw I called the company to rescind as soon as I found out and they tried to sell me at .11 saying I'll be locked in for 20 months and rates will be going up Yada yada.. I just locked in at .09 for 18months a month ago.
The sales people are a joke they try to hurry and get you to fill it out so you get stuck, glad I checked it as soon as i got it.
Don't waste your time or money with this company. ”
